Beef and Peppers in Black Bean Sauce
Rating: 5 stars
Comments: "Excellent and easy recipe. I marinated mine overnight and cooked it in a slow cooker to further tenderise the beef. Mouth watering results." (When I wrote asking for more details, he explained that he cooked the beef on low for about 5 hours, using a large Breville Slow Cooker). From Edward

Egg Rolls
Rating: 5 stars
Comments: We made these egg rolls as a family activity for the first
time. They fry up so quickly. My whole family loved them and are asking when we'll be doing this again. There's more filling in these than the ones you buy and much less expensive. We didn't include the water chestnuts or the Chinese mushrooms because my 2 teenage boys (who are second generation Chinese-Canadians and love Chinese cuisine as much as the Chinese from HK or China) didn't think it would taste right, but the egg rolls still tasted great.
Garlic Chicken
Rating: 5 stars
Comments: I used to get this at the chinese restaurant here in town but they went out of business. I loved it and searched all over to find it again. Now I can make it any time. I included fresh sliced
carrots, fresh green bell peppers and water chestnuts with a serving of hot rice. The spice was just right. yum!!THANKYOU! From "Garfieldzealot"
Ginger Ice Cream
Rating: 5 stars
Comments: Outstanding taste - for anyone who loves ginger, this taste
is devine!
Mapo Tofu
Rating: 4 stars
Comments: This is a good version of this dish. I am changing two
things to this recipe. Drop the salt (soy sauce and salted black beans gives it enough saltiness), and add more chicken broth to 1/2 cup. I had black bean paste and it worked just fine in place of the salted black beans. From JCMisty
Salt and Pepper Shrimp
It is very crisp and very good recipe for shrimp!!! From Lily
Sesame Chicken
Rating: 5 stars
Comments: "Oh My! This is it! This is the recipe that the restaurants don't want you to have! It is fantistic. My wife and I are Sesame Chicken fanatics. We order it regularly at several of the local restaurants. This recipe is just as good. I made it for the first time yesterday, I'm sure with a little 'love' I can make it better than the local restaurants' recipes.
A few facts I must note...I used pork tenderloin instead of chicken, because that's what I had on hand. For the sauce, the chicken broth I used was made from 1 tsp of jar chicken-paste and 1 cup water. I added 1 tsp more of Vinegar to the sauce to add more 'bite'. I was also not frying the meat long enough at first. I realized it needs
to cook more than 'golden brown'. Should read deep brown and crunchy."
Shrimp Fried Rice
Rating: 5 stars
Comments: "Best Fried Rice Recipe i've ever had. Easy to make and
delicious. We are vegeterians so we left out the ham. Still delicious! Make a double batch as my family of four devoured the whole thing with no left overs." From Diane
Shrimp With Lobster Sauce (Take-out version)
Rating: 5 stars
Comments: My wife only eats shrimp with lobster sauce when we order
Chinese take-out. Now I am the take-out and she loves it. From Thomas
Soy Sauce Chicken With Shiitake Mushrooms
Ratine: 4 stars
Comments: My husband loves it! I find it a little salty though, so
I add 2 tbsp of water to the marinade while simmering - it also makes the gravy less thick. From Cheryl
Steamed Lemon Chicken

easy/fast enough for a student to make, provided you have a steamer!! From Keng
Sweet and Sour Pork, Cantonese Style
Rating: 5 stars
Comments: A really good recipe! The sauce tasted beautiful. Thanks so
much! From Sam

I used this recipe once then made some changes: no chicken
broth or stock, just all pineapple juice. I used a very tiny pork roast for the pork-much cheaper and had better flavor. I only deep fried once to keep the flavor intact. The pineapple rounds were deep fried at the last minute- about 1 minute in the oil. Instead of ketchup, I used "rooster sauce" from Viet Nam. It doesn't jazz
it up too much, but brings out the flavor. Right before serving, I sprinkle the sweet and sour pork with a small amount of sesame seeds. I serve with full grown leeks on the
side. From Rusty and Christine
